Kevin Bowyer is the Schubmehl-Prein Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Professor Bowyer’s research interests range broadly across computer vision and pattern recognition, including biometrics, data mining and classifier ensembles. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the IAPR, and a Golden Core member of the IEEE Computer Society, and received an IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award “for pioneering contributions to the science and engineering of biometrics”. Professor Bowyer is also appointed as Honorary Professor in Biometric Technologies by the College of Engineering and Informatics, NUI Galway, Ireland.
Professor Constantin Vertan holds an image processing and analysis tenure at the Image Processing and Analysis Laboratory from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology at the „Politehnica“ University of Bucharest. He was an invited professor at INSA de Rouen and University of Poitiers (France). His research interests are general image processing and analysis, CBIR, fuzzy and medical image processing applications. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and Chair of the Romanian IEEE Signal Processing Chapter. Professor Vertan is also appointed as Honorary Adjunct Professor in Computational Imaging by the College of Engineering and Informatics, NUI Galway, Ireland.
Mihai Ciuc is a Professor with the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology of the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest. His research interests cover a broad range of topics in the image processing and computer vision domain (radar image processing, computational photography, medical image processing etc.) He co-authored over 50 US Patents and 60 journal and conference articles.
Dan Nicula is a Professor with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of University Transilvania of Brasov, Romania.
He teaches Digital Electronics, Hardware Description Languages and VLSI/ASIC Design.
His research interest is hardware implementation of image processing systems.
